Troubleshooting Speedbrite Ionic Jewelry Cleaners

Unit will turn on but not clean.

  1. The solution needs to be changed or there is not enough solution for the amount of water in bowl.
  2. You may have a conductivity problem, you will need to check the negative plate at the bottom of the bowl
  3. to see if it is covered in sediment built up from dried solution.

You may also check the alligator clip to see if it is loose or corroded.

Unit will not turn on.

  1. May be a ground fault problem. (is the clip touching the negative plate)
  2. Check to see if the power supply is loose in receptacle or plug into different receptacle.
  3. Power supply has a thermal fuse built in and will shut off when hot. (will turn back on when cooled)
  4. Circuit board may have been compromised. (with water, electrical surge or over heated)

Unit will not turn off.

  1. Circuit board may have been compromised. (with water or electrical surge)
  2. The solution was poured over the on switch and is stuck in on position.

Unit is leaking.

  1. Unit has been damaged and has a cracked bowl. Return tank and transformer only to be

checked for repair. (Do not keep using leaking unit, it will damage the circuitry and will add to repair cost)

Gem Sparkle has bad odor when using.

1.This can happen after cleaning multiple pieces of silver. This creates a sulfur odor and is normal.

Change the solution when it becomes cloudy. Rinse tank well and add new Gem Sparkle.

(always clean the blue screen when changing solution)

Gem Sparkle liquid concentrate has turned color in bottle.

  1. Shelf life of Gem Sparkle is approximately 18 months. After that time, the electrolyte is still effective

but the color may fade to a light pink. Storing solution in bright light or warm areas will also fade the

color but it is still an effective electrolyte.

Vibrator motor stops working.

  1. The small motor is incased in a metal tube that jumps up and down and sometimes gets hung up in a unit that

has been jolted. (most times a light pad on the side of the unit will jolt it back into service)

  1. If that does not fix the problem it may have been compromised (with water or electrical failure)
  2.

Clip wire comes loose and rusted.

  1. Alligator clip and the copper wire that is attached to have been submerged in solution will corrode.

Clip wire that has been corroded will not work correctly.

On switch starts to blink and vibrator stops working. (2013 to 2017 units only)

  1. The circuit board is overheated, because the ratio of solution to water is off. (add water to bowl)
  2. The circuit board is overheated, because the basket is too low in the bowl. (flatten bottom of basket)
  3.

100SB will not come back on after battery change.

  1. While changing the battery one of the lead wires was pull from the battery snap.
  2.
